Trimarchi 20

As the pandemic clouds disperse, we see a rainbow carrying twenty years of celebration for Graphic Design. Trimarchi brings together the largest community of Visual Cultural enthusiasts in Latin America. I had the privilege of designing the visual identity of this edition, inspired in Angela Kirwood’s illustrations.

Branding & Identity

01

The Scottish illustrator Angela Kirkwood gave birth to childlike characters, triggering nostalgia for a gang of curious people who have been gathering at a basketball stadium to deepen into design for 20 years now.

Using a playful color palette, I developed a simple visual identity that emphasized the speakers and artists while maintaining easy recognizability. This was particularly important because most of the event's promotion occurs on Instagram, up to four months prior to the event. With the colors of the rainbow at my disposal, the creative possibilities were extensive.

Prominent global design figures such as Stefan Sagmeister, Hört, Adam J. Kurtz, and many others present at this edition, influenced Trimarchi's growth, learning, and evolution, which happened through experimentation and learning by doing.

Production

02

Trimarchi invites different design-related projects to develop one or several products using the art created by Angela to feed the spirit of celebration for its 20th edition.

In collaboration with VANS, the official merchandise was designed: T-shirts, tote bags, sweatshirts, and caps. With Monoblock, pins, notebooks, and pens.
